The recycling of rebar involves a number of steps in which the metal is carefully recovered:
Demolition and separation - the rebar is removed from the structure and separated from concrete remnants
Cleaning up - concrete and rust are removed to make the steel suitable for processing
Reduce - the bars are cut to size or trimmed for transportation
Remelting - the steel goes to the blast furnace and is reused in new steel products
