Frequently Asked Questions

What types of scrap metal and electronics do you accept?

We accept almost all types of metals (ferrous & non-ferrous), such as iron, steel, copper, aluminum, zinc and stainless steel. Electronics, circuit boards, batteries, laptops, computers, etc. can also be returned. For special qualities (such as rare metals, circuit boards class A, coolants) additional conditions sometimes apply.

How is the price for my metal determined?

We use a combination of market prices, metal type, purity and weight. Recently, we also have a Vulcan Expert LIBS Laser metal analyzer that allows us to more quickly and accurately measure which metals are in your material (such as Nickel, Tungsten, Tin, etc.). The result can affect the price.

How and when will I receive payment?

You can choose between paying cash on the spot or paying on account (for companies). In both cases you will receive a receipt. Payment on account is usually subject to conditions such as Chamber of Commerce number and VAT number.

Where can I drop off my metals/electronics?

Our collection address is Groenewoudsedijk 5K, 3528 BG Utrecht. Check the contact page for directions and opening hours.

What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. Please keep in mind that we have breaks at certain times (e.g. morning, around noon, etc.).

Should I clean / deliver metal prepared first?

Yes, for best value and efficiency, it is fine if metal is free of non-metallic contaminants (such as concrete, plastic, paint, etc.). For electronics, remove batteries if possible, and make sure devices are intact. Sometimes we can help with disassembly.

Do you also offer a container service?

Yes. We offer a container service for large quantities of metal or scrap iron from about 1,500 pounds. You can specify when the container should be picked up or when the emptying should take place.

How quickly can a container be delivered or picked up?

When necessary, we can arrange for a container to be available within 24 hours after an order is confirmed. The exact time depends on location, type of material and logistical planning.

What happens to the material handed in?

After handing in, we sort the metal by quality and type. Electronics are separated into components such as circuit boards, batteries, metal frame, etc. The metal is then recycled, melted down, and eventually reused in new products or manufacturing processes both locally and internationally.

Are there any metals/items that are not accepted?

Some highly contaminated materials or items containing hazardous materials cannot be accepted directly, or special regulations apply (such as refrigerants, waste containing asbestos, highly oil/chemically contaminated metals). When in doubt, contact.

Can I also come as an individual, or only companies?

You are welcome, both as an individual and as a company. Additional conditions sometimes apply for business parties (such as Chamber of Commerce, VAT, larger volumes, etc.).

Should I make a reservation or an appointment?

For regular drop-offs, this is usually not necessary; you can drop by within opening hours. However, for larger volumes or when you need a container, it is convenient to contact us in advance.
